Therapy for Trauma

“I don’t know where to start”

“I tried traditional talk therapy in the past but I need something more”

“I have been living like this for as long as I can remember”

Sound familiar?

I see you

Trauma, in its varied forms, leaves unseen wounds that can make even the smallest tasks feel insurmountable. However, you need not face this journey alone. I understand the profound impact of traumatic experiences, whether they stem from childhood adversity, abuse, neglect, or life-altering events.

Instead of asking “what wrong with you” I want to know “what happened to you”. Because let's face it, your past experiences are like   threads woven into the fabric of your being. But they don't define you; they're simply parts of your story. My approach focuses on understanding those threads, untangling them, and helping you weave a new narrative—one of resilience, growth, and self-compassion.

In our safe and supportive environment, you'll find validation, empathy, and guidance as you navigate the complexities of your journey. Together, we'll explore how your past has influenced your present, empowering you to rewrite your story and embrace a future filled with possibility.

because, At the end of the day:

Only you have the power to rewrite your future.

  • EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy, works by tapping into the brain's natural ability to process and heal from traumatic experiences. When something traumatic occurs, it often becomes "locked" in the brain along with all the associated sensory details—like images, sounds, thoughts, and emotions. These memories can resurface whenever something triggers a reminder, causing discomfort and negative emotions that feel uncontrollable.

  • I sure do! If we stay focused and you're motivated for change, typically clients work with me for 8-10 months of weekly EMDR therapy sessions. I often see clients no longer meeting criteria for PTSD, anxiety, or depression. But most importantly, they are able to live their lives without being burdened by the past

  • Unlike many therapists, hearing and talking about trauma doesn't scare me, make me uncomfortable, or bring tears to my eyes during sessions. Unfortunately, these are all things past clients have shared with me about their previous therapy experiences.

I have gone the extra mile to obtain advanced credentials in EMDR. I am certified in EMDR by the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) and am a Consultant-in-Training. This means that, in addition to my initial EMDR training, I've completed hours and hours of EMDR while working with expert consultants registered with EMDRIA. Now, I am able to provide consultation to others. I've also taken continuing education trainings to ensure my knowledge and skills adhere to the highest standards for your safety and benefit. On top of that, I am a coach for Thrive EMDR Learning, where I coach therapists learning EMDR and provide consultation to them.

I have provided over 2000 hours of EMDR therapy and over 200 hours of EMDR consultation to therapists and this number is growing weekly.
